An interesting comment from Elena-Romana Gazenser about the article wrong dinghy wood
I read the article about the wrong dinghy wood in your blog. I think, larch is a good alternative. On the picture you see me and my dinghy and my father with his Folke junior "Paw". "Paw" is 50 years old with oak ribs and planked in larch. With varnish, larch looks like brightly mahogany. Also the Vikings used ribs in oak and planked with larch. The wood is very resistant against rotting and fungal decay. I think, larch appropriates very well to our tradition.
