The German dinghy sailor Carl Obst. In 1931 he was one of the 23 German dinghy sailors at Kiel and defeated three excellent Dutch dinghy sailors: Bohre, Jan Maas and Hin. The newspapers in Germany were very proud: "Deutschland schlagt Holland im Busley - erinnerungspreis".

82 years later 12foot dinghies are sailing again at Kiel with three new famous prices

„Duva Preis“ for the oldest dinghy
„Oskar Preis“ for the youngest helmsman or woman.
„Antonia Preis“ for the oldest helmsman or woman.

Friday evening a fun regatta will be organised for the crew of the Big Boats, so they can get a feeling how a real classic dinghy has to be sailed. The 12 footdinghy is an important part of the German classics program

Reinhard Schroeder is the new Carl Obst and was succesful in creating a lot of publicity for the 12foot dinghy in Germany
